Tech Tas Tech Fest 2026 has wrapped up after a terrific day of ideas and opportunities – with major projects a theme.
It was officially the largest general technology conference TasICT has ever staged with over 480 participants.
This year, world-leading advanced manufacturing firm International Catamarans provided the keynote, while Stadiums Tasmania also outlined the huge potential for technology in the Macquarie Point Stadium Development in Hobart.
TasICT CEO Russell Kelly said Incat’s success showed technology was central to advanced manufacturing and that there were multiple emerging opportunities for Tasmania’s tech sector to contribute.
“We have seen how Incat is now a trailblazer as a maker of electric ferries that are carbon-neutral exactly when the world needs it most.”
“This is a terrific example of what Tassie tech can do — using our unique experiences, strengths and expertise to help solve some of the world’s most pressing problems.”
International Catamarans CEO Mr Stephen Casey said: “Innovation has always been at the heart of Incat. Today, technology is not just supporting shipbuilding, it is redefining what is possible. From battery-electric propulsion to advanced manufacturing, the work being done in Tasmania is proving that globally significant solutions can be designed and built right here.”
TasICT thanks everyone who joined us at Tas Tech Fest 2026 — our members, presenters, sponsors, exhibitors and attendees.
