ICT Industry Forums – Developing the Future

Are you interested in the future workforce development of the State’s ICT sector?

Do you have a view on future skills and training?

If so TasICT needs your input into the joint industry workforce development plan.

TasICT and the Australian Computer Society, in conjunction with the Department of State Growth, are developing an ICT industry workforce development plan which can support Tasmania’s ongoing economic and social prosperity.  This involves reviewing the future skills, training and career pathways needed for ICT workers in Tasmania.

We are taking a broad view of the ICT industry as ICT workers operate within and support all industry sectors.  In this respect, we are initially focusing on consulting with key stakeholders in a small number of exemplar industries.

Consequently, we as seeking your interest in participating and / or nominating other innovative leaders and key stakeholders in your industry who can participate in a 2-hour workshop to be held with in mid-February in Hobart.  At the workshop we would like to understand:

  • What your industry will be like in 2030?
  • What roles ICT will play in bringing about this vision?
  • What ICT skills and training will be needed?
  • How will this impact existing and future workers?

It would be greatly appreciated if you indicate your interest or nominations to Mr Sam Waterhouse at Stenning & Associates (sam@stenning.com.au) by Friday 25 January.
