Agents of Change Today and Tomorrow

UTAS is running a Women in Technology event for the sixth year running.

This year it is being held in Launceston for the first time.

It will continue in the updated format from 2021 with more interactive workshop style program. As a result, there will be more of a focus on educating the audience on ‘how to’ enter ICT related fields.

The Women in Technology event will open with a guest speaker sharing their knowledge, followed by workshops with presenters. These workshops will be led by experienced and leading women who will provide advice and insight into various topics

This is for you if you’re working in the Technology sector or just interested in ICT, for instance.

It’s ideal for those studying technology, looking for a career change or considering starting a business.

Aims of the Program

The Women in Technology Program arranged by IT Services to;

• Firstly: Promote the importance of a diverse workforce
• Secondly: Inspire, encourage and empower women and girls considering or building a career in technology
• Thirdly: Promote discussions about women working in technology related fields
• Fourthly: Provide experienced and leading female voices from the technology sector to share their career journey and learnings
• And finally: Showcase the educational offerings at the University of Tasmania.

The focus of the Women in Technology Program is about promoting Workplace Diversity, and as men are an important part of this discussion they are warmly invited to attend and participate.

Introduction and Keynote Address (3:00pm to 3:30pm)

Workshop 1 (3:30pm to 4:00pm)

Workshop 2 (4:00pm to 4:30pm)

• Entrepreneurship and building a meaningful network

Networking (4:30pm to 5:00pm)
