TASICT is pleased to be joining with Telstra for the inaugural Industry Breakfast 22 November 2018.
Telstra’s Network Engineering Executive Channa Seneviratne will present on Telstra’s 5G technology and opportunities for smart cities and agriculture, followed by a panel discussion including with Carmel Mulhern (Telstra Group Executive for Legal and Corporate Affairs) and Michael Patterson (Regional General Manager Telstra Tasmania).
At TasICT we see many start-ups and established businesses moving to Tasmania because of the state’s excellent, affordable lifestyle.
And this isn’t limited to just small businesses – larger businesses are basing some of their operations here. New high-tech industries such as the State’s aquaculture and energy industries are using better connectivity to expand their operations in a competitive world market.
A recent presentation from the Regional Australia Institute in Hobart released data showing Hobart will have up to 800 businesses created by 2021 on the back of the nbn rollout – and up to 8,000 jobs transformed or created by better connectivity.
There is no better place than Tasmania to continue to be the technology pilot of the nation which is why TasICT is pleased to be partnering with Telstra to bring these presentations on 5G technology.
