2026 TasICT-AISA Cyber Security Conference Launched!
Tasmania’s biggest tech conference has launched, announcing not one but TWO national expert keynotes for this year’s conference.
Tasmania’s tech sector will come together in Hobart on 20 August 2026 at Wrest Point Convention Centre for the TasICT–AISA Cyber Security Conference, a major industry event focused on strengthening cyber capability across business, government and the broader community.

Delivered by TasICT in partnership with the Australian Information Security Association, the conference brings together leaders, practitioners and specialists to examine the risks, responsibilities and opportunities shaping Tasmania’s digital economy.
The 2026 program will focus on leadership, implementation and cutting-edge advice. Sessions will support boards, executives, CIOs and technical teams to better understand cyber risk, strengthen systems, and make informed decisions about investment, governance and resilience.
Two Keynote Speakers!
The morning keynote is Professor Debi Ashenden, Director of the Institute for Cyber Security at UNSW. Professor Ashenden brings deep expertise across defence, government, industry and academia in Australia and the UK. Her work spans AI and machine learning security, cyber resilience, cyber statecraft and active cyber defence. Recently appointed by the Department of Home Affairs to the Cyber Incident Review Board, Professor Ashenden will provide timely insight into the changing cyber environment and the practical steps organisations can take to improve readiness.
The afternoon keynote with be Head of Security at nbn, Mr Darren Kane – one of Australia’s top security officials at the crossroads of government and private enterprise security operations for over a decade. Mr Kane is also a member of the Cyber Incident Review Board.
